It is recommended for use tiling onto plasterboard or cement boarding, and necessary when tiling onto masonry. Simply apply with a brush or roller, and it will go tacky within 5 10 minutes, at which point you can begin tiling onto the surface, and you shouldn't need to reapply for 48 hours.
