Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber - Dowdle Mickey Mouse adding a touch of enchantmentFinished Puzzle Size: 19 x 26 in. Rothenburg ob der Taubers name means Red fortress above the Tauber. It is a must see location in the Bavarian region of Germany. Celts likely inhabited the area long before Rothenburg Castle was built in 1070. The town experienced wild highs and lows over the centuries. One misfortune, the plague of 1634, decimated the population and left the city unchanged from its 17th century character for over a hundred years.
