A mother white-tailed deer and her two fawns use the South Fork Kishwaukee River as a corridor on this misty September morning at Wildflower Park
The temperature was an incredible -28F
the fog was still about and peaked my interest to find subjects that would help compliment the atmosphere that the fog brought to the landscape
if only I knew what they were saying
WATCHING THE WOODPECKERS TREES A mother white-tailed deer andAfter photographing the pair of red bellied woodpeckers, I notice a male downy woodpecker nearby probing the tree branches for insects. Sometimes these small woodpeckers can be difficult to photograph as they are quick and can be elusive when they are climbing the trees in search for insects. Fortunately, this male wasn't moving to quickly as I take a series of photographs of him moving slowly towards the outer branches of the tree at Wildflower Park.
