A small and inconspicuous patch of moth damage in one corner

This antique  rug is of all wool construction and so probably produced in a village or nomadic setting for domestic use

Overall soft palette

Azra underlay As with this exampleA vibrant 1940s Karabakh long rug from south west Caucasus. Glorious pinks, coral and plum and a profusion of motifs. Date 1949(?) in outer guard top left and inscription date in ivory border top right. Exuberant fringes at one end. Overall even wear with corrosion to dark brown. Small bites at one end and one edge have been patched to the verso. A lovely tribal piece. Video at https: youtu. be 8oz26ool20I 335x 132cm
