Masdevallia tonduzii Dryopteridaceae crisp flowers with heavily ruffledNamed in honor of Adolphe Tonduz, the Swiss Costa Rican botanist who contributed extensively to the exploration of Central American and Andean flora, Masd. tonduzii is a refined intermediate growing species from Ecuador. Its relative scarcity in cultivation and well defined floral character make it a valued addition to any serious collection. Light: Grow under 5070% shade cloth; direct sun causes rapid damage to its fine foliage and must be avoided.
