The main compartment has a full length zipper and when you slip off the right shoulder strap, the bag swings forward and you caneasily unzip it to see all the contents
Oversized bags may not fit in overhead compartments or beneath seats, which may cause some mayhem among other passengers (be very aware of this)
The shoulder strap pockets are great, and the side pockets are too, but our favorite pocket is the one that sits on the bottom of the pack body
For medium to large it was exceptional and I'd say it would handle XL just fine as well (I test only up to L jumps)
