If taken care of properly (meaning cleaned regularly) theyll last a number of years
I have seen in my testing, as well, where a Roro spool actually makes a good BFS reel great because the lighter aftermarket spool lets you drop down in lure size and weight to throw a lot lighter baits on the same reel
That is where a lighter-spool low-profile reel may feel easier
You'll also want to be sure the pack is the right size: enough storage for your stuff, but not so big that it can't fit under a seat (or meet an airline's carry-on restrictions)
