My go to rod for this setup is a 7-foot,4-inch heavy Shimano Expride B

The new Daiwa Big game single speed reels feature a stealthy black finish, but there is no composite frame here, this new reel is built with a rugged aluminum frame and heavy gauge components The new two speed versions allow for fast transitions between high power and high speed winding with a simple touch of your finger

Here are a few live bait rigs this combo handles perfectly: Shrimp under a popping cork Carolina rigs with mud minnows Free-lined mullet Light bottom rigs Bottom line: if youre fishing inshore the way most people do mixing artificial lures with live bait when it makes sense this combo covers it all without needing extra rods cluttering up the boat

Aesthetics On top of being very practical, this reel is also aesthetically pleasing
