The Veil XP 30 is a technical pack (both in appearance and performance), and is overkill for casual hikes
The numerous parts and combinations can be a little confusing at the beginning, but thats the only remotely negative thing I can say about this rod
I even took the pack on a full-day adventure to Anacapa Island, where I needed snacks for an entire day and a place to store my extra jackets on an unseasonably warm day
There are directions on how to use this on the spread sheet, and I am going to walk you through it also
